How to choose the projection screen?


How to select the appropriate projection screen should be considered from the following aspects: screen type, screen material, screen proportion and screen size. It will not be wrong to select the appropriate screen according to these aspects.

Screen type

1. Picture frame and screen

It can be understood as an extremely thin flat screen TV, essential for home cinemas, fixed to the wall and unable to move, with a long lifespan

2. Electric curtain

Can be hidden in the ceiling groove without occupying any space

3. Support screen

Can be used indoors or outdoors, but must be reinstalled every time used

4. Manual screen

Can be hidden without drilling, and can be supported by hooks and brackets

5. Semi manual curtain

Can be hidden, needs to be punched, can be stored, automatically locked when pulled, and then pulled back to fold up

The material of the curtain

💠 White plastic cloth (gain 1.1)

Rich surface texture, restoring the natural colors of the projector, with a wide viewing angle

💠 Grey plastic cloth

High contrast screen, which absorbs more ambient light than white plastic cloth, has high brightness and contrast, good color reproduction, clear imaging, and is less prone to eye fatigue when viewed for a long time

💠 Glass bead screen (gain 3.0)

The screen has a distinct sense of focus and vitality, high brightness and resolution, high gain, and low price. It has a certain collection effect on light and is suitable for low sensitivity projection equipment. But it is easy to reflect light, the image turns white, and the perspective is small

💠 Metal curtain (gain 3.5) ✅

Good flatness, good clarity, contrast, color rendering, high brightness, environmentally friendly and durable. When displaying dynamic videos, it is vivid and lifelike, providing better support for 3D, making 4K more natural

⚠️ Note: Lumen must be greater than 2000ANSI

💠 Grey fiberglass curtain (gain 2.8) ✅

Recommended for high daytime usage. It has good moisture resistance, easy cleaning, and is more durable. Even when the temperature difference is large, it can remain straight. Good color, strong light resistance, and better daytime projection effect than white fiberglass curtain

⚠️ Note: Lumens must be greater than 1900 ANSI

💠 White glass fiber screen (gain 2.5)

The contrast of the image is strong, but the light resistance is poor when used during the day

Screen ratio

16: 9 Suitable for home theaters, preferred by movie enthusiasts

4: 3 Wider usage scenarios, such as teaching and meetings

⚠️ Note: The same size is 100 inches, and the 4:3 screen is smaller in width and higher in height than the 16:9 screen

Screen size

From these three considerations:

1. Installation space: First consider the limitations of installation space on the curtain

2 Viewing distance: The shortest distance from the viewing position to the curtain

3 Projection distance: To confirm the projection distance of the projector
